BFBA Consultants (Pty) Ltd – Consulting Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineers, previously known as Biderman, Finn, Beekhuizen and Associates Incorporated, was founded in Johannesburg in 1955 by Ervin Biderman and originally styled “E.Biderman-Consulting Engineer”.
From humble beginnings and with limited resources, the company now enjoys nationwide representation through five branches. In addition, various projects have been successfully undertaken in countries outside the borders of South Africa, for example, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles.
A milestone in the history of the company was the establishment of the first branch office in Durban in 1968. Two years later, Trevor Finn relocated from Johannesburg and took the fledging branch under his leadership. This set the pattern for growth which led to the establishment of the Pietermaritzburg office in 1971.
The Cape Town office came into being in 1979 with incorporation of a smaller franchise and was initially managed by Ervin Biderman, with Cor Beekhuizen assuming control of the Johannesburg office.
